appreciation post.

This weather sure does remind me how much I am dreading winter, luckily I've found afew ways to get me through these chilly few months.

Firsty, a good spray tan πŸ™ŒπŸ» nothing beats the feeling of being bronzed when actually in real life you look like an albino. I have been getting my tans done at Essential Beauty down at Norwood & they have been saving my life! I'm normally pretty pastey so if I have something special on (or let's face it, anything requiring my bare flesh to be on show) I get on the fake tan! No streaky bits or orange tones, the colour of the tan they use looks really natural so I can pretend to my clients when they ask that it's el' natural πŸ˜‡ although I guess now the cats out of the bag....
I got my festival tan for Groove in the Moo at Essential Beauty & as you can see below it was perrrrrfect for me πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Something else keeping me sane leading upto these cooler months is my addiction to MBODY. Meet Henny Moody, my client but also my amazing trainer! She has her own studio & since I've been going to her group classes I've felt such a change in myself & my fitness. I remember when I first dragged my fellow fitness buddy Chloe to our first class, we were both so nervous not knowing what to expect. We  walked in with butterflies in our guts and the fear of being too unfit to keep up. (I also had my fingers crossed that I wouldn't infact vomit infront of everyone)
Henny was so positive and supportive throughout our entire session & has continued to be that way since. Now after going for so long I know that if I did vomit (as I almost have many times) she wouldn't judge me anyway, even though she's one of the fittest people I know she is always understanding and continues to push my limits! I don't think I've ever had my butt kicked so hard but it's a good kinda butt kick, the kind you feel proud of after.
Summer bodies are made in winter ladies, at this rate I might just have a 6 pack by December.. (lol jokes, I love pizza too much) but honestly, can't rave enough #teamhenny πŸ’ͺ🏼😻 go follow her Instagram @MBODY_

Thanks for stopping by & listening to my ramblings. Stay tuned for upcoming style posts, I will be featuring some of my favourite new wintery purchases. X

a cliche chick-flick resulting in new hair goals.

Im back folks, sooner than I thought might I add (go me).

When it comes to my job I get my inspiration from all kinds of things. My latest inspo came from from a movie I watched; How to be single'.
Lucky for me my day off is a Tuesday; which as you all know means.. 12 dollar movie tickets! Now I love a good bargain as much as the next guy, so off me & two of my fellow chick flick loving friends went.

Overall it was a funny and at times slightly cringe worthy movie. We found ourselves scoffing and swooning at the sappy one liners throughout what proved to be an enjoyable hour & a half with the gals. Anyway, seeing as I'm not actually a film critic/doing a movie review Ill get to the point of this post; my main girl and star of the movie; Dakotta Johnson..that cool bitch.
Im positive i spent the majority of the film commenting on her hairstyle and fashion sense (oh and did I mention her insane New York apartment that she could magically afford on her own and deck out in just afew days.. unrealistic much?! Im not jealous i swear) I found myself walking out of the cinema wanting short(er) hair plus a fringe and her exact top knot. Fan girling.

Short hair is taking over the world, perhaps I say this because I myself have just recently cut my hair short.. But so did Miranda kerr and Lara bingle and I mean if they're doing it then it must be cool right? Not to mention Khloe K (and with her, half the worlds population) Scarlet Johanson, Rosie Huntington-whitely, even Lauren Conrad gone and done it.

I am loving seeing my clients get slightly braver with their hair and try new styles, nothing better than a fresh cut (and colour of course).

Below are afew of the cuts and styles I am into right now.

Enjoy & thanks for stopping by. x

lushhair.

fresh feeeeelzzzzz.

Hi, hello; its that time again. I've decided to crawl out from underneath my rock and update you all on the latest. This happens every 6 months or so when I suddenly feel enthusiast about being a proactive blogger. Life gets so busy sometimes (you know, binge watching TV series and what not) I don't know how people stay on top of this stuff, kudos to them.

New to report, after 7 & a half years working with the awesome company Hair Machine I decided to change it up in October and move on. You can now find me at Lush Hair on Unley road, the vibes are good and the place has got some serious style. I am working with a completely new colour brand called Labiostitique which is aaaahhhhhhh-mazing and exciting. Come visit me if you haven't already & chuck us a follow on instagram @lushhaironunley.
I have some very cool things coming up this year & enthusiastic me has every intention of keeping my blog updated.. lazy me on the other hand, well lets just say she cant be trusted. (insert angel face emoji here)

Ill be posting about all things hair, my everyday inspiration & upcoming trends.

Stay tuned.

willowandwander

I discovered this cute little label wanderandwillow via Instagram & fell inlove with their stuff.
I am not a big jewellery person, if anything I mostly wear junk jewellery. Although if you haven't noticed from my Instagram, I do love a good choker or two. Or three, I mean really, what's an outfit without a choker?
I received my new willowandwander  jewels in the mail & it felt like Christmas! Do yourself a favour & check them out.

GIRLZZZ GO GREY.

I've seen all kinds of trends come about over the years, I myself have even tried my luck at pink hair. Fashion & style generally goes around from era to era but I must say I can't think of a time where I've seen this new trend before!
Lately I'm noticing it's all about the grey/silver blondes & I'm even seeing it come about in the salon. Adelaide can be very conservative so I get very excited when my clients come to me wanting something new! I've had some really good results & am eager to play around with it some more! Maybe I'll make poor old mum grow out those pesky greys that I've been covering up for years & it'll save me some time every 6 weeks! πŸ˜‰ (only joking mum, your a bloody Saint)
I must be honest though, before you try this colour you must consider ......
1) you must be white blonde! As I've said before with pastel colours, unless your white blonde you won't have a clean colour. You will be a mucky grey yellow if you attempt grey on top of brassy hair.
2) If you don't wear a lot of make up you may feel washed out, grey can be harsh on the complexion.
3) These super model bitches have faces of angels so before considering this look for yourself try to imagine how you would feel with this colour on YOUR head. What's your personal style? Will this suit your clothing etc?
4) invest in some strengthening shampoo & conditioner to keep that hair strong, I highly reccomend Kerestase because it is the greatest hair care brand of all time. (don't fight me on this)
5) LOREAL SILVER TONING SHAMPOOπŸ™Œ  it's a God sent & will keep that gold out!

Anyway, grey or not grey.. come see me at Hairmachine NorthAdelaide in the month of April & receive $40 off for a colour + cut. Book online but get in fast, limited spots available!πŸ“±

Thanks for stopping by. xx

mourning mad march.

I am officially mourning mad March, we have well and truely ticked over to boring April.
Goodbye to hot nights at the adelaide fringe, seeya later to sleeping in summer pjs with the fan on. No more pool parties! I'm droning on abit here aren't I but what can I say? I'm a summer gal, a water baby, an Aquarius through and through!
I actually don't mind Autumn so much, the trees and flowers are pretty at this time of year. At least we still get lucky with some sunshine every now and then, I'll really get my violin out when winter comes.
The one thing I do enjoy about the season change is... drum roll.... the fashion! (and of course the excuse to drink hot chocolate all day)
All jokes aside, my poor summer tan is starting to morph into a pasty glow so I find myself welcoming pant weather with open arms! My arms are also open to coloured and patterned stockings paired with long socks & cute knits.

grumpy blogger.

I'm feeling rather cranky because I just spent what felt like a life time writing a blog post that somehow got erased. I hate technology! I went into detail about what I got upto last year in the Hairmachine artistic team & how we worked really hard on several projects throughout the year.
Frustrating times, I kind of feel like that kid at school who claims their dog ate their homework. Except I don't have a dog & I don't goto school, I just don't know how to use this dang website. You will have to take my word that it was an entertaining & insightful bunch of words.

Moving on, below are the final product & some behind the scenes photos from a photoshoot we did last year. Donna from my salon, Monique from the Unley Hairmachine & myself worked very hard for several months to get our ideas together & this is what we came up with! Enjoy! Apologies for being a grump.
Also a big thankyou to all the models, the photographer & helpers on the day, we couldn't have done it without you! xx
